Are you on summer break trying to figure out how to pay your college tuition next semester? No worries! I have compiled the top 27 summer scholarships that you can complete over your summer break.

These summer scholarships are some of my favorite scholarships because they have less competition, because most students are chilling at the beach, and they were created for students that look like you—brown and black students. It gets even better, most of these scholarships are for students attending an HBCU.
Black and brown high school students, undergraduate students, and graduate students I have you covered, there are scholarship opportunities for you.
Check out these 27 Summer Scholarships that you can Apply for Today
This is a great time to start looking over the eligibility requirements for all the scholarship applications to determine which scholarships you are eligible for.
The best way to win scholarships is to follow the instructions. If a scholarship is for female students with community service experience and you are a male student with no volunteer experience then you have not met the eligibility criteria.
Before you apply for a scholarship make sure you meet ALL the eligibility requirements.
I would suggest you create a scholarship spreadsheet so you can keep track of your scholarships you can see which ones you applied for and you can easily keep track of the application deadline. On the scholarship spreadsheet, you can also create a column to list the materials requested for each scholarship.
Some scholarships will ask for a letter of recommendation, household income, a list of your extracurricular activities, academic achievements, or the number of credits you have completed.
Even if you receive a federal Pell Grant and student loans you should still apply for summer scholarships over your summer break. I know you are probably thinking I have federal student aid and subsidized and unsubsidized loans, so do I really need to spend my summer worrying about college scholarships?
No, you don’t need to worry but most students have a financial need even though they receive financial aid, and remember student loans have to be repaid.
Why get into student loan debt when you can win summer scholarships which don’t create debt or have to be repaid?
